Jawa has launched the updated 42 All Stars in India with prices from ₹1.80 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. The roadster keeps its familiar neo-classic shape while bringing more than 60 claimed enhancements to the engine, chassis, finish and everyday equipment.
Autocar India reports that the range runs to ₹1.90 lakh for the higher All Stars colours, with deliveries beginning on 14 September. The update is a careful one. Jawa has kept the proportions that make the 42 recognisable, then worked through the parts that define how a modern classic feels after the first showroom impression.

The same engine brief with a broader polish
Power comes from a 294.72cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine producing 27.19hp at 7,950rpm and 26.3Nm at 6,000rpm. A six-speed gearbox continues the job of making the 42 usable in traffic and relaxed on a longer road, while the mechanical package remains familiar enough for the motorcycle to feel like an evolution of the same idea.
The official Jawa product page describes the current 42 as a 294.72cc J-Panther motorcycle with a six-speed gearbox, dual-channel ABS and a digital display. That gives the launch a clear technical centre. The 42 is aimed at riders who want the character of a classic roadster with the equipment and service rhythm of a current motorcycle.

A wider rear tyre changes the stance
The All Stars version uses a wider 150/70-17 rear tyre, new alloy wheels and a compact upswept twin exhaust. The visual effect is immediate. The motorcycle sits with more presence at the back, while the exhaust layout keeps the side profile tied to the old-school twin-cylinder visual language that Jawa has used across the 42 family.
Jawa has also revised frame and swingarm stiffness, ergonomics and handling. Those details are difficult to judge from a launch stage, though they matter in daily use. A modern classic succeeds when the steering feels friendly at low speed, the suspension has enough support for a broken road and the rider can spend time on the bike without fighting the riding position.

Colour is part of the All Stars identity
The new range is offered in six colourways. Black and Ivory form the entry point at ₹1.80 lakh, while All Stars Black and Nebula Blue move to ₹1.90 lakh. The official gallery also shows Battle Green and Moss Grey, giving the same shape several distinct moods without asking the buyer to move to a different motorcycle.

That variety makes sense for a roadster whose appeal is partly emotional. The 42 is bought through the way it looks parked outside a café or moving through a familiar street, then judged by the quality of the ride after the novelty has settled. The colour palette gives owners a simple way to make the motorcycle feel personal.

A familiar roadster with a more complete brief
The revised 42 enters a busy middleweight field where buyers expect style, comfort, safety and enough performance for a weekend away. Jawa’s answer is to improve the package around the central character while keeping its established identity. The six-speed gearbox, twin-channel ABS, wider rear tyre and updated chassis all support that direction.
Deliveries start on 14 September. The road test will decide how successfully the changes come together, especially the suspension tune, gearbox feel and the effect of the wider rear tyre. The launch itself is clear. Jawa has given its 42 All Stars a larger equipment story and a stronger colour story while keeping the motorcycle recognisably Jawa.
